Yash's film KGF: Chapter 1 made Rs 250 crore at the box office worldwide and became a magnum-opus. Now, the makers are busy with pre-production work of KGF: Chapter 2.
Actor Yash's film KGF made everyone sit up and take notice of Kannada cinema. The film, which is made on a budget of Rs 80 crore, went on to make over Rs 250 crore at the box office worldwide. Recently, the makers announced that the film has successfully completed 50 days of its theatrical run.
Now, talks are on with several actors who are expected to play significant roles in the second of part of KGF. Yash, who played Rocky Bhai in the film, recently, announced that the team has approached Bollywood director Sanjay Dutt to play the role of Adheera in KGF: Chapter 2.
In a recent interview to an English daily, Yash said, "We had offered him Chapter one, which he did not accept perhaps for reasons of date availability. But yes, we have offered him Chapter 2 of KGF."
It is said that the makers wanted to rope in a Bollywood actor to widen the market for their film. Also, a source revealed that Sanjay Dutt had to turn down the offer for the first part because it was only a Kannada film and nobody knew Yash outside Karnataka.
Since KGF has managed to garner everyone's attention, Sanjay Dutt might consider making his South debut with this flick. The pre-production work is currently underway and the shooting might commence sometime in the coming weeks.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF talks about the life of Rocky, who becomes the messiah of people suffering in the Kolar Gold Fields.
